特徴

• This gene encodes a glycoprotein with an approximate molecular weight of 76.5kD. It is thought to have been created as a result of an ancient gene duplication event that led to generation of homologous C and N-terminal domains each of which binds one ion of ferric iron. The function of this protein is to transport iron from the intestine, reticuloendothelial system, and liver parenchymal cells to all proliferating cells in the body. This protein may also have a physiologic role as granulocyte/pollen-binding protein (GPBP) involved in the removal of certain organic matter and allergens from serum.

• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human TF. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human TF and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for TF has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TF present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for TF is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TF bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
