特徴

• This protein is a subunit of a disulfide-linked homotrimeric protein. This protein is an adhesive glycoprotein that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions. This protein can bind to fibrinogen, fibronectin, laminin, type V collagen and integrins alpha-V/beta-1. This protein has been shown to play roles in platelet aggregation, angiogenesis, and tumorigenesis.

• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human TSP-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human TSP-1 and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for TSP-1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TSP-1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TSP-1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TSP-1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
