特徴

• This gene encodes a homodimeric transmembrane protein which is a major glycoprotein of the vascular endothelium. This protein is a component of the transforming growth factor beta receptor complex and it binds TGFB1 and TGFB3 with high affinity. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, also known as Osler-Rendu-Weber syndrome 1, an autosomal dominant multisystemic vascular dysplasia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human sENG. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human sENG and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for sENG has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any sENG present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for sENG is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of sENG bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
