特徴

• This gene belongs to the subfamily of small cytokine CC genes. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity on resting T lymphocytes, a minimal activity on neutrophils, and is negative on monocytes and activated T lymphocytes. The protein is also a strong suppressor of colony formation by a multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cell line.

• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human eotaxin 2/CCL24. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human eotaxin 2/CCL24 and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for eotaxin 2/CCL24 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any eotaxin 2/CCL24 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for eotaxin 2/CCL24 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of eotaxin 2/CCL24 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
