• This gene is expressed in adipose tissue exclusively. It encodes a protein with similarity to collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. The encoded protein circulates in the plasma and is involved with metabolic and hormonal processes.

• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of mouse ADP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between mouse ADP and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for ADP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ADP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ADP is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ADP bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
