Influenza virus is a single stranded RNA virus, with a segmented genome. Virus particles are 70-120 nm diameter, and enveloped. It causes an acute viral disease of the upper respiratory tract characterized by fever, chills, headache, myalgia, weakness, runny nose and mild sore throat; cough can be severe; nausea and vomiting are uncommon; fatality is generally low, except in those with chronic lung or heart conditions.

Storage and Stability:Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
