CGREF1, also known as cell growth regulator with EF-hand domain 1, is a secreted calcium ion binding protein. This protein contains two EF-hand domains and both EF-hands are required for function. It is probably digested extracellularly by an unknown serine protease generating extremely hydrophobic bioactive peptides. It mediates cell-cell adhesion in a calcium-dependent manner. In addition, CGREF1 is able to inhibit growth in several cell lines.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
