• BNIP1 is a member of the BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19kd-interacting protein (BNIP) family. It interacts with the E1B 19kD protein, which protects cells from virally-induced cell death. This protein also interacts with E1B 19kD-like sequences of BCL2, another apoptotic protector. In addition, it is involved in vesicle transport into the endoplasmic reticulum. Alternative splicing of this gene results in four protein products with identical N- and C-termini.

• Applications:Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
