A non-selective antagonist for alpha-2-adrenoceptors (pKi = 8.01, 7.43, and 7.7 for alpha-2A, alpha-2B, and alpha-2C receptors respectively) and imidazoline receptors. (pKi = 5.90, 7.22 for I1 and I2, receptors respectively). Widely used in studying functions of the nervous systems, such as learning and memory, decision making, reward, attention, addiction, depression, and schizophrenia related to the adrenergic receptors, and blood pressure regulation, pain modulation, and neuroprotection related to the imidazoline receptors.

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
