A potent negative allosteric modulator selective for AMPA glutamate receptors (IC50 = 6 and 5uM for GluA1 and GluA4, respectively) over kainate receptors (IC50 = 63 and 32uM for GluK3 and GluK2b/GluK3 receptors. Used as neuroprotectant and anticonvulsant, and a valuable tool for the study of AMPA receptor-mediated processes in vivo.
