A pyrimidinyl sulfonamide compound that acts as a potent, reversible and CaM non-competitive inhibitor of CaMKII activities (IC50 = 0.063uM) with excellent selectivity over several kinases (IC50 = >60, 36, 11, 30 and 21uM for CaMKIV, MLCK, p38alpha, Akt1 and PKC, respectively). Shown to exhibit ~25-fold greater potency towards CaMKII than the CaM-competitive inhibitor KN-93.
