Stem Cell Factor Receptor (SCFR) is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family. Binding of SCFR to its ligand Stem Cell Factor induces receptor dimerization, autophosphorylation and signal transduction. SCFR is essential for the development of normal hematopoietic cells and plays an important role in the survival, proliferation and differentiation of mast cells, melanocytes and germ cells.
Source:Stem Cell Factor Receptor-Fc Chimera, from Human. A DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and extracellular domain of human Stem Cell Factor Receptor aa1-520 was fused to the Fc region of human IgG1 aa93-330. The chimeric protein was expressed in modified human 293 cells.
Molecular Weight:~90kD-150kD with post-translation modification and ~83.1kD unmodified
Biological Activity:The SCFR-Fc Chimera migrates as a broad band between 90kD and 150kD in SDS-PAGE due to post-translational modifications. This compares with the unmodified SCFR-Fc Chimera that has a predicted molecular mass of 83.1kD. The Chimera separates into a number of isoforms with a pI between 4.5-8 in 2D PAGE due to post-translational modifications. The unmodified SCFR–Fc Chimera has a predicted pI of 6.6.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
