Transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF beta 1) is a homodimeric protein that regulates the proliferation and differentiation of normal and transformed cells. TGF beta 1 is the most abundant isoform which is secreted by most cell types.
Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to human TGF beta 1, expressed in CHO cells.
Molecular Weight:~25.0kD
Biological Activity:The ED50, determined by the ability of TGF beta 1 to inhibit the mouse IL-4-dependent proliferation of mouse HT-2 cells is 0.05ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2x10e7 units/mg.
Endotoxin:<0.1ng/ug
Applications:Suitable for use in Functional Assays. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with 100ul sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
