CD31, otherwise known as PECAM-1, is a member of the Ig-related superfamily of adhesion molecules, expressed by endothelial cells, platelets, granulocytes and some lymphocytes, and plays a key role as a mediator of leucocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and leucocyte transendothelial migration (TEM), during inflammatory responses. CD31 has been linked with various inflammatory disorders including atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and multiple sclerosis (MS).

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
