Rubella virus is an enveloped positive-strand RNA virus of the family TOGAVIRIDAE: Virions are composed of three structural proteins: a capsid and two membrane-spanning glycoproteins, E2 and E1. During virus assembly, the capsid interacts with genomic RNA to form nucleocapsids.
Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to the Rubella Virus Capsid C regions, aa1-123, expressed in E. coli.
Specificity:Immunoreactive with sera of Rubella Virus infected individuals.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and as an Antigen for detection. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
