• Interleukin-2 is a potent immunoregulatory lymphokine produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation. IL-2/IL-2R signaling is required for T-cell proliferation and other fundamental functions which are essential for the immune response. IL-2 stimulates growth and differentiation of B-cells, NK cells, lymphokine activated killer cells, monocytes, macrophages and oligodendrocytes. Human IL-2 is a 15.5kD protein containing 134 amino acid residues including one intrachain disulfide bond.
• Recombinant protein corresponding to human IL-2 expressed in E. coli.
• Biological Activity:Determined by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of mouse CTLL-2 cells. The expected ED50 is <0.1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1x10e7units/mg.

• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
