Antileishmanial agent. Active against Leishmania donovani, the causative agent of visceral leishmaniasis. Showed no activity against intracellular Leishmania. Isatropolone A is an amine-reactive fluorescent compound. Cytostatic and weak cytotoxic (3-10uM).
