DNA polymerase involved in base excision and repair. Has 5'-deoxyribose-5-phosphate lyase (dRP lyase) activity that removes the 5' sugar phosphate and also acts as a DNA polymerase that adds one nucleotide to the 3' end of the arising single-nucleotide gap. Conducts 'gap-filling' DNA synthesis in a stepwise distributive fashion rather than in a processive fashion as for other DNA polymerases. The protein is normally found in the cytoplasm, but it translocates to the nucleus upon DNA damage.
Recombinant protein corresponding to aa2-335 (end) of DNA Polymerase Beta with N-terminal His-tag, expressed in E. coli (Accession# NM_002690).
Applications:Suitable for use in DNA synthesis and DNA repair, as an antigen for Western Blot, and for inhibitor screening. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap
