Recombinant S. solfataricus S-adenosyl homocysteine hydrolase, or AHCY, amino acids 2-417 (end) with N-terminal His tag, MW= 47kD.
AHCY deficiency is one of the causes of hypermethioninemia, a rare disease affecting brain development and muscle strength. Down-regulation of AHCY is also associated with certain forms of cancer, Huntington's disease and Wilson's disease.
Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-417 from AHCY at N-terminal, fused to His Tag expressed in E. coli.
Molecular Weight:~47kD
Application:Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling.
Storage and Stability:Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
