Cathepsin S, also known as CTSS, is a member of the peptidase C1 family. This protein is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase that may participate in the degradation of antigenic proteins to peptides for presentation on MHC class II molecules. CTSS can function as an elastase over a broad pH range in alveolar macrophages.
Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to aa17-331 from human CTSS at N-terminal, fused to His-tag expressed in E.coli.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
