HRSP12, also called ribonuclease UK114, is an endoribonuclease found predominantly in human adult kidney and liver, and which is responsible for inhibiting translation by cleaving mRNA. This protein cleaves phosphodiester bonds only in single-stranded RNA. It may be an important biomarker for heptatic carcinoma. Recombinant human HRSP12 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminal domain, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
