Gankyrin is an oncoprotein commonly overexpressed in most hepatocellular carcinomas. Gankyrin interacts with S6 ATPase of the 19S regulatory particle of the 26S proteasome. It is known to play a role in the regulation of the phosphorylation of the retinoblastoma protein by CDK4, and to enhance the ubiquitinylation of p53 by MDM2. Gankyrin consists of 7 ankyrin repeats and is structurally similar to I kappa Bs. Recombinant human Gankyrin was expressed in E.coli and purified by conventional chromatography techniques.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
