Dynein light chain 2, cytoplasmic, also known DYNLL2, is a large protein complex composed of six distinct subunits and is responsible for most intracellular movement toward the minus ends of microtubules. Dyneins are multisubunit, high molecular weight ATPases that interact with microtubules to generate force by converting the chemical energy of ATP into the mechanical energy of movement. DYNLL2 is a highly conserved eukaryotic hub protein with dozens of binding partners and various functions beyond being a subunit of dynein and myosin Va motor proteins. Recombinant human DYNLL2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminal domain, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
