USP2, also known as UBP41 is a deubiquitinating protease which rescues proteins from the ubiquitin mediated 26S proteasomal pathway. The USP2 gene encodes two splice variants- USP2a and USP2b, with molecular weights of 69kD and 48kD respectively.
USP2a deubiquitinates the antiapoptotic proteins fatty acid synthase (FAS) and Mdm2. FAS is overexpressed in the majority of epithelial tumors, including prostate cancer, whilst Mdm2 indicates that USP2 may regulate p53-dependent pathways.

Applications:Suitable for for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
