PRKG1, a cGMP type protein kinase, is associated with physiologic processes such as relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and inhibition of platelet aggregation. PRKG1 is activated by binding to cGMP. At least two mRNA variants have been reported -- the first two of 19 exons are used alternatively and encode the alpha and beta isoform specific sequences.
Source:Recombinant corresponding to full length human PRKG1, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in Sf9 cells via a baculovirus expression system.
Molecular Weight:~80kD
Applications:Suitable for use in the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Specific Activity:~579pmol/min/ug
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
