WLS, a Wnt trafficking regulator, is a multipass transmembrane protein that regulates the sorting and secretion of Wnt protein. It is required for organogenesis during embryogenesis and for the establishment of the anterior-posterior axis. WLS promotes various cancers such as glioma tumorigenesis. The gene encoding WLS maps to human chromosome 1 and is expressed as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms.
