Jagged-1 is a ligand for multiple Notch receptors and involved in the mediation of Notch signaling. It is involved in cell-fate decisions during hematopoiesis. Is involved in early and late stages of mammalian cardiovascular development. Inhibits myoblast differentiation. Enhances fibroblast growth factor-induced angiogenesis (in vitro). Defects in Jagged-1 are the cause of Alagille syndrome type 1 (ALGS1) and tetralogy of Fallot (TOF).
Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-1067 from Jagged-1 fused at the C-terminus to the Fc portion of human IgG1, expressed in HEK 293 cells. Swiss/UniProt Accession: P78504
Biological Activity:Inhibits adipogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Induces Hes-1 in 3T3L-1 cells.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
