• FGF-19 (Fibroblast growth factor 19) is involved in the suppression of bile acid biosynthesis through down-regulation of CYP7A1 expression, following positive regulation of the JNK and ERK1/2 cascades. Stimulates glucose uptake in adipocytes. FGF-19 plays an important role in brain development during embryogenesis. FGF-19 binds only to FGF receptor 4 (FGFR4). Activity requires the presence of KLB.
• Sequence:Signal peptide and human FGF-19 (aa1-216) are fused at the C-terminus to a His-tag, expressed in HEK 293 cells.
• Molecular Weight:~22kD (SDS-PAGE)
• Biological Activity:Activates ERK and FRS2alpha phosphorylation in rat hepatoma cells.
• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
