CTRP9 (C1qTNF-related protein 9) belongs to a highly conserved family of adiponectin paralogs. It activates AMPK, AKT, and p44/42 MAPK signaling pathways. Expressed predominantly in adipose tissue. Females express higher levels than males. Overexpression of CTRP9 in obese (ob/ob) mice significantly lowered serum glucose levels.
Sequence:The globular domain of human CTRP9 (aa 195-333) is fused at the N-terminus to a His-tag.
