Indanomycin is an unusual pyrollic ionophore active against Gram +ve bacteria and insects. Interestingly, indanomycin has been demonstrated to possess antihypertensive properties. Indanomycin posseses affinity for both mono- and divalent ions and has been reported as a growth promotor in ruminants.

Solubility:Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. Limited water solubility.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
