HDAC2 belongs to the histone deacetylase family that act via the formation of large multiprotein complexes and are responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal region of the core histones. It forms transcriptional repressor complexes by associating with many different proteins, including YY1, a mammalian zinc-finger transcription factor. It also plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. Purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Recombinant corresponding to aa1-488 of human HDAC2, expressed with C-terminal His-tag in high-5 cells using baculovirus expression system. Accession Number: NP_001518.3
Enzyme Activity:Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
