AnsA is the cytoplasmic asparaginase from Escherichia coli involved in intracellular asparagine utilization. Escherichia coli possesse two l-asparaginases: the cytoplasmic type I form (ansA) and the periplasmic type II form (ansB). AnsA (Type I asparaginase) is constitutively expressed and required for the growth of the bacteria on asparagine as the sole nitrogen source. Purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Source:Recombinant corresponding to aa1-338 ansA, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli.
Molecular Weight:~39.3kD (358aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF
Enzyme Activity:Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
