IL-33 is a member of the IL-1cytokine family and is constitutively expressed in smooth muscle cells and the airway epithelium. IL-33 signals through receptors, IL-1RL1 and IL-1RAP, to induce type 2 cytokine production in polarized Th2 cells. Recombinant human IL-33 is anon-glycosylated protein, consisting of 160aa and having a total molecular weight of 18.1kD.
Biological Activity:The activity is determined by the ability to induce the proliferation of D10.G4.1 cells co-stimulated with anti-CD3 and is typically 0.06-0.24ng/ml.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
