TDO2, also known as TDO, is a ferrous heme enzyme that catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step in the kynurenine pathway, the major pathway of tryptophan metabolism. It incorporates oxygen into the indole moiety of tryptophan. It has a broad specificity towards tryptamine and derivatives including D- and L-tryptophan, 5-hydroxytryptophan and serotonin.
Recombinant protein corresponding to human TDO2, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E. coli.
Enzyme Activity:Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
