UBE2V2, also known as ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant 2, constitutes a distinct subfamily within the E2 protein family. They have sequence similarity to other ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes but lack the conserved cysteine residue that is critical for the catalytic activity of E2s. This protein also shares homology with ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant 1 and yeast MMS2 gene product. It may be involved in the differentiation of monocytes and enterocytes.
Source:Recombinant human UBE2V2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli.
Molecular Weight: 18.5kD (165aa) confirmed by MALDI-TOF
Enzyme Activity:Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
