Ras-related protein Rap-1A (RAP1A) belongs to the family of RAS-related proteins. These proteins share approximately 50% aa identity with the classical RAS proteins and have numerous structural features in common. The most striking difference between RAP proteins and RAS proteins resides in their 61st aa: glutamine in RAS is replaced by threonine in RAP proteins. This Protein Induces morphological reversion of a cell line transformed by a Ras oncogene and Counteracts the mitogenic function of Ras, at least partly because it can interact with Ras GAPs and RAF in a competitive manner.
Source:Recombinant corresponding to aa1-181 of human HRAS, 6x His tagged, expressed in E.coli.
Molecular Weight: 22.8kD (201aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF
Enzyme Activity:Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.
