MAPK 1 is a member of the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), act in a signaling cascade that regulates various cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression in response to a variety of extracellular signals. This protein is activated by upstream kinases, resulting in its translocation to the nucleus where it phosphorylates nuclear targets.
Source:Recombinant corresponding to aa1-379 of human MAPK 1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli.
Molecular Weight: 45.2kD (399aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF
Enzyme Activity:Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.
