Glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme which exists in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial forms, GOT1 and GOT2, respectively. GOT plays a role inaa metabolism and the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles. The two enzymes are homodimeric and show close homology.
Source:Recombinant corresponding to aa1-413 of human Aspartate Aminotransferase (GOT1) fused to a His-tag at N-terminus expressed in E.coli.
Enzyme Activity:Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.
Storage and Stability:Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
