Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) is a naturally occurring protein which inhibits the activity of IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta by competitively blocking binding to cell surface receptors for IL-1.
Recombinant protein corresponding to human IL-1RA, expressed in E. coli.
Applications:Suitable for use in Functional Assays, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Functional Assays: 20-40ng/mlELISA: 0.2-0.4ng/well, may be used as the standard for ELISA applications with either a purified human IL-1RA antibody or a biotinylated human IL-1RA antibody
Western Blot: 1.5-3.0ng/lane, may be used as a positive control for Western Blotting applications with either a purified human IL-1RA antibody or a biotinylated human IL-1RA antibody
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Biological Activity:In an assay of dose dependent inhibition of IL-1 stimulation of D10S cells, the ED50 was expected to be 20-40ng/ml.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
