Phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1) is an X-linked enzyme that plays a key role in the glycolytic pathway. The gene encoding the erythrocyte enzyme PGK1 and it seems that PGK-1 acts as a polymerase alpha cofactor protein (primer recognition protein) as a glyxolytic enzyme role. The PGK1 catalyzes the reversible conversion of 1,3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate during glycolysis, generating one molecule of ATP. Recombinant PGK1 protein , expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
