Esterase D, also known as formylglutathione hydrolase, belongs to the esterase D family. Esterase D is active toward numerous substrates including O-acetylated sialic acids, and it may be involved in the recycling of sialic acids. This protein is used as a genetic marker for retinoblastoma and Wilson's disease. Recombinant Esterase D protein , expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
