Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 53aa and a molecular weight of 6.22kD. The sequence of the first five N-terminal aa was determined to be Asn-Ser-Asp-Ser-Glu. N-terminal methionine has been completely removed enzymatically. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates.
Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to Human Epidermal Growth Factor expressed in E. coli.
Molecular weight: 6.22kD
Activity:The ED50 calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of murine Balb/c 3T3 cells (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <0.1ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e7 Units/mg.
Endotoxin:≤0.1 ng/ug
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile deionized water to a concentration ≥100ug/ml. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
