• Peroxiredoxin 5, also known as PRDX5, is a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduces hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides with reducing equivalents provided through the thioredoxin system. This protein may play an antioxidant protective role in different tissues under normal conditions and during inflammatory processes. It has been reported that peroxiredoxin 5 is involved in intracellular redox signaling.

• Enzyme Activity:Specific activity is >9000 pmol/min/ug. Enzymatic activityis defined as the amount of hydroperoxide that 1ug of enzyme can reduce at 25°C for 1 minute.
• Storage and Stability:For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C/-70°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C/-70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
