SUMO-1, also known as small ubiquitin-related modifier 1, is a member of the SUMO protein family and functions in a manner similar to ubiquitin. However, unlike ubiquitin which targets proteins for degradation, SUMO-1 protein participates in a number of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability.
Source: Recombinant human SUMO1 protein, expressed in E.coli.
Molecular Weight: 11.1kD (97aa) Real molecular weight on SDS-PAGE will be shift up.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
