Human PRMT1 isoform3, 1-353 aa, His-MBP tagged, Recombinant, E. coli
Full name : protein arginine methyltransferase 1
NCBI Accession#: NP_938074
Synonyms: ANM1, HCP1, HRMT1L2, IR1B4
Protein arginine N-methyltransferase 1 (PRMT1) is a type I methyltransferase that transfers a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to guanidino nitrogens of arginine residues to form monomethylarginine and asymmetric dimethylarginine. Functions of type I arginine methylation in proteins may include regulation of transcription, modulation of the affinity of nucleic acid-binding proteins, regulation of interferon signaling pathways, and targeting of nuclear proteins.
Recombinant human PRMT1, fused to His-MBP tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Molecular Weight: 84kD (750 aa)
Specific Activity: 10,000unit/ml
Unit Definition: One unit will transfer 1pmol of methyl group to synthetic peptide of histone H4 for 10 minutes at 37℃.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
