RSV is so named from the formation of syncytia, or multinucleated masses of fused cells. Two virally specified surface glycoproteins are prominent in RSV. The large glycoprotein is designated G and the other fusion protein is designated F. In addition, two distinct groups may be present in RSV, Group A and/or Group B.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Inactivation:Inactivated with Beta-propiolactone treatment. Confirmation by attempted growth under original culture conditions.
Storage and Stability:Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
