• CD105 (26-176 a.a.) or Endoglin or GP160 is a Type I transmembrane protein, which is highly expressed on human vascular endothelial cells, activated macrophages, fibroblasts, and smooth muscle cells. It exists as an O- and N-glycosylated homodimer of 180kD. Up-regulation of endoglin expression has been demonstrated in tumor vasculature and proliferating cells, suggesting that it is a proliferation-associated endothelial cell marker. Endoglin has been found to be part of the TGF-beta1 receptor complex. It thus may be involved in the binding of TGF-beta1, TGF beta3, activin-A, BMP-2, and BMP-7. CD105 binds to TGF Beta1 and Beta3 with high affinity but not TGF-Beta2Beside TGF-beta signaling endoglin may have other functions. It has been postulated that endoglin is involved in the cytoskeletal organization affecting cell morphology and migration. Endoglin has a role in the development of the cardiovascular system and in vascular remodeling. Its expression is regulated during heart development. Experimental mice without the endoglin gene die due to cardiovascular abnormalities.

• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Inhibition Assays, Western Blotting.
• Storage and Stability:Endoglin although stable at 15°C for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA)
• Store vial at -20°C to -80°C. When stored at the recommended temperature, this protein is stable for 12 months. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
