FGF10 is comprised of 170aa and is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein exhibits mitogenic activity for keratinizing epidermal cells, but essentially no activity for fibroblasts, which is similar to the biological activity of FGF7. Studies have suggested that FGF10 is required for embryonic epidermal morphogenesis including brain development, lung morphogenesis, and initiation of lim bud formation. It is also implicated to be a primary factor in the process of wound healing.
Source:Recombinant corresponding to human Fibroblast Growth Factor 10 expressed in E. coli.
Molecular Weight:~19.3kD
Endotoxin: ~0.1ng/ug
Biological Activity:ED50 <0.5ng/ml (>2x10e6unit), determined by the dose dependen stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors. FGF-10 is a heparin binding growth factor that is expressed by fibroblasts, pre-adipocytes and lung mesenchyme.
Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with 5mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.4, 0.1-1.0% BSA. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
