Source:Recombinant corresponding to 207aa from human Fibroblast Growth Factor 9, expressed in E. coli
Molecular Weight:~23.4kD
Activity:ED50 <0.5 ng/ml (> 2 x 106units/mg), determined by the dose dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors. FGF-9 is a heparin binding growth factor that has principal activity in and on, nervous tissue. Cells known to express FGF-9 include prostatic stromal cells, neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes and fetal skeletal myoblasts, ventricular myocardium, gut lumenal epithelium and olfactory bulb. It is also known as glial-activating factor (GAF).
Endotoxin: ≤0.1ng/ug
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with Tris, pH 8.0, sodium chloride. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
