Fibroblast growth factor 4 is a member of the FGF family, a group of 7 homologous polypeptides that act upon a variety of cells and produce biological actions that may include cell proliferation, migration and differentiation. FGF4, also known as oncogene products hst1 and KFGF, has strong transforming potential and is a potent angiogenic factor, being expressed in several highly vascularized tumors.

Biological Activity:ED50 ≤0.5ng/ml (≥2x10e6 units/mg), determined by the dose dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors. FGF-4 is a heparin binding growth factor expressed by tumor cells and embryonic cells which has mitogenic activity with fibroblasts and endothelial cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in Neutralization. Other applications not tested.
Recommeded Dilutions:Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C with a carrier protein. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
